To be honest, Skrillex is not the best there is when it comes to dubstep. I feel like the kind of music Skrillex makes should be named wubstep, because that is essentially what it is. Good dubstep imo is polyrythmic, not just a bunch of wubs.
I have a friend who decided he’s gonna be the next Skrillex… Cut his hair, got some glasses and now sits on his 13″ MacBook Pro playing around with Massive in Logic for hours.. My suggestion… get a job, grow up.. 3 years or less dub step will be dead.. sad but true.
I downloaded one song of them on iTunes and after i heard the 10 seconds i deleted and shut my macbook !!!!

Skrillex doesn’t make Dubstep… Skrillex makes EDM (Electronic Dance Music). This type of music has been around a long time, think Daft Punk, Justice, Steve Aoki, etc. Skrillex is simply influenced by Dubstep and it shows in his music. He is a completely new sound to the EDM community and that’s why people love him so much. Nobody can make music as crazy as Skrill, which shows in his 3 recent Grammy wins!

Essentially he’s created his own genre inside of EDM. Nobody can quite describe it.

I was listening to Dubstep before everyone else in the US and also Adele. You guys who don’t like it just don’t have a taste for new stuff, check out Chillstep though on youtube.

Skrillex is a musical genius. He is way more then dubstep. He has been in multiple bands from scremo to punk to heavy metal which comes through in his unique DJ style. Most people don’t like him because of the in your face music he produces. Whenever I hear his songs I just wanna meet Molly and go on an ‘E’venture Skrillex is the man and leading the way in house music
