Another year of WWDC and the first without Steve :( I’m following all the live blogs and will do a brief recap here! I’ll be following the TWiT, gdgt, engadget, and Macrumors.

• With lost mode you can send a phone number to the phone and whoever finds it can tap to call the sent number. Yep, I’ll use that quite often.

OH MAN. So excited about this – DO NOT DISTURB MODE!!! When activated, phone will be silent. You can set who you get phone calls / messages from like favorites or specific contact group.

• Few mail enhancements – VIP allows you to mark someone as a VIP – basically gmail’s priority inbox

Passbook – Virtually keep all of your store cards in an app that is easy to access at anytime.

When you go to starbucks your card will appear on the lock screen and you can just swipe across to access it.

New maps. Finally!

• Local search

Apple flyover – can rotate to see city and buildings.

  2. Thanks for the detailed update! It looks like the next gen MacBook Pro will exclude an optical drive. Was the iPhoto update to be like and to sync with iPhoto on iOS?

    And will they still be selling the “old” macbook pro’s? ‘Cause these are really expensive! :)

  20. Ahhh, the Do Not Disturb mode, how you can tell your phone to give you a reminder later about a missed call, and the store cards app are all super awesome. Seems like a good update to me! Just need new iPhone now, k thanks!

  24. Off to the Apple store to buy the new “slim” MBP huh Justine? :D What number MBP will this be 6/7/8th lol Finally a laptop small enough like a MBA but powerful enough to do video editing :)

  30. It must be a joke. MacBook Pro with Retina display: 2,199$ – that’s 1.759€
    BUT instead, the price in EUR is 2.279€ – that would be 2,850$.
    Yeah I know, taxed and stuff.. but not that much.

  31. It’s absurd we, here in Brazil pay US$ 6.000,00 for a Mac that is US$ 2.199,00 there, BE THANKFUL AMERICANS!!!!!!! You have gold in hands!

  33. Well it looks like they did revamp the MacPro line up. Just pricing. not hardware.. @Priscilla IOS6+iPhone5=Fall.

  35. @Ryel414 I would put vast sums of money on Justine buying the new slim Mac Book Pro. I would do the same too! Makes perfect sense if when she travels she takes her Mac Book Air. Thats not powerful enough to video edit seriously so the new Mac Book Pro is perfect. Plus retina display… drools :P

  38. Hi iJustine, great recap! I also followed the livevblogs ;) I think Apple did something great with the new iOS 6. Over 200 new features! I love the new maps and Siri, because they’ve changed so mutch. Too bad that they didn’t released the iPhone. (What I thought)And the new MacBook Pro looks amazing!!!

  39. Oh man I’m so exited about ALL this!! I seriously can’t wait for IOS 6 and the new OS X Mountain Lion to come out!! :D but I won’t probably get the new macbook though :/ oh well, thanks for covering this Justine! :)

  41. I also think it is very upsetting without Steve Jobs, at least we will all remember him for the things he did for us especially apple:) and also to be honest horse head dj pretty scary but annoying oranges still very funny:D

    These are some answers to the questions, Siri only on iPad 3rd gen, iOS 6 coming out this fall, OS X Mountain Lion coming out late July and the old MBP are still selling, but the 13″ are the same prices, but they don’t have Retina Support.
